Comparison SUPERCOMP vs. a conventional compost bin
Why conventional composters reach their limits – and how SUPERCOMP solves the problem.
SUPERCOMP Wooden composter
- Base layer: Pile is relieved by the sliding device – no longer rests on the ground with its full weight.
- Aeration Vertical air circulation (chimney effect) ensures oxygen throughout the compost heap
- Odour formation: No bad odours thanks to optimal aeration
- Compost quality: Nutrient-rich compost through turbo composting
- Turning the pile: No laborious turning required
Conventional composters
- Ground support: the pile is enclosed by walls and rests with its full weight on the ground.
- Aeration: Compaction restricts airflow – little oxygen, no air circulation, and the composting process slows down
- Odour formation:Rotting and foul smells due to lack of air
- Compost quality: Slow process with risk of rotting & unpleasant odors
- Turning the pile: Several per year – requires full dismantling of the bin

Biogenic waste from the kitchen and garden, grass cuttings, food waste, napkins, orange peel, cooking oils (leftovers), meat waste (cover)...
... that processes everything SUPERCOMP
And this is how it works: the 4 steps to your own compost
From set-up to the first harvest - composting is so easy and clean with the SUPERCOMP wooden composter
01.
Set up & place
The SUPERCOMP wooden composter is ready for use in just a few minutes. Easy to assemble thanks to pre-assembled side walls - just a few screws are all it takes. The wooden composter is easy to use and can be set up flexibly in different places in the garden. Watch the assembly video here
02.
Start the first filling
A layer of structural material such as mulch, straw or old compost (approx. 50 liters) is suitable as a base. The daily organic waste is gradually added on top. After around two months, the base material can be removed via the removal flap and filled in again at the top - so the SUPERCOMP is in optimum working order.
03.
Composting is running – completely automatically
Fill at the top, harvest at the bottom - without moving. The special sliding device creates a chimney effect that keeps the compost airy and prevents unpleasant odors. Even meat scraps, citrus fruit and peelings can be processed without any problems. Composting is so easy with a modern wooden composter.
04.
Harvest nutrient-rich compost
The SUPERCOMP SUPERCOMP is sanitized and is rich in microorganisms - over 1 billion per cm³. These little helpers support your plants with natural defenses such as penicillin and ensure healthy development. The optimum conditions in the composter produce a high-quality fertilizer particularly quickly.
What our customers say about the
SUPERCOMP say
Real experiences, real results – our customers are so enthusiastic about composting with the SUPERCOMP.
Michael K., St. Ruprecht
All composters had to be constantly turned and the odor was correspondingly bad, and mold also tended to form in the composters. Since we started using the Superkomp, we have been able to get by with a comparatively...

small composter, where nothing smells, doesn't need to be turned and the compost is metabolized very quickly. Citrus fruits and even meat scraps (we didn't dare throw them on the compost before) are also composted. We were initially concerned about the size, as I said, the composter looked tiny next to the 3 previous ones, but the composter more than makes up for this with its rapid processing of the compost material. It is now usually 3/4 full, but we hardly ever put grass cuttings into the composter. It is important to have a level and firm base, I have made a U-shaped foundation here in a sand bed (which I dug out about 15 cm deep beforehand) with some clinker bricks. This keeps the composter straight and stable. We would buy the composter again at any time, overall verdict: unbeatable!

We were looking for a composter that works well, doesn't smell and looks good, as it is clearly visible in our yard. After the first 10 months of use and the first time we took it out...

we are very satisfied. The workmanship on the lid and removal flap was not optimal, but customer service was very friendly, accommodating, prompt and uncomplicated in delivering new parts. The compost is dark and rich, removal is child's play, there's nothing to do. Bio in at the top, compost out at the bottom. No odors at all, even when the sun is shining directly on the Supercomp and you're standing next to it. We were a little hesitant before we bought it because the price seemed quite high, but we think the Supercomp is absolutely worth the price! If you are looking for a composter with which you have zero work, which you can set up practically next to the balcony or garden table and which delivers great compost, then this is the one for you! By the way, we only throw in fresh organic waste, no processed waste, nothing cooked and no meat, bone or sausage waste to avoid attracting uninvited guests. We always cook fresh and there is a lot of organic waste.

The compost already looks completely "finished" at the bottom openings. We estimate that the two Supercomp will replace Supercomp four conventional compost bins. With the Supercomps, composting is fun again.

We were not satisfied with the previous products. The ventilation system simply works better than we had hoped. All the promises of being able to remove compost after 4 weeks, no shoveling necessary and NO more unpleasant odors have been 100% fulfilled...

However, we paid too little attention to a stable and absolutely horizontal base when setting up the SUPERCOMP . So it became necessary - we have the plastic model - to completely empty the SUPERCOMP and create a stable base. Mr. Schmidl, thank you for your prompt advice, we can recommend the SUPERCOMP unconditionally! Best regards from the Salzkammergut, Family A.

fermented soil as the end product. The garbage cans are located in D-37181 Hardegsen, which is in the district of Northeim. Subsequent procurement of replacement parts (storm damage caused by hurricane Friederike) by the manufacturer was also exemplary. I can recommend the company's products at any time.
Friedrich K., Switzerland
We have been "harvesting" good, black compost again and again for 4 months, hoping that the seeds in it have lost their germination capacity due to the process heat. But we'll see next spring, which we've been waiting for at breakneck speed for the last two days...

Frequently Asked Questions about the
SUPERCOMP Composter
Here you will find answers to the most important questions about setup, use, composting and everything you should know before buying.
Does the composter smell unpleasant?
No - not with the SUPERCOMP wooden composter.
Unpleasant odors arise especially when conventional composters are poorly ventilated. Compacted material or a lack of turning quickly leads to rotting. This is exactly what the SUPERCOMP prevents: thanks to the integrated sliding device, a chimney effect is created that optimally aerates the entire heap - right down to the core. The material remains loose, well-aerated and free of rotting nests.
Does the composter attract rats or mice?
No - this wooden composter is well protected.
The SUPERCOMP has a fully enclosed design, finely perforated ventilation grids and additional seals on the lid, door and ventilation openings. This means that rats, mice, snails and insects don't stand a chance. At the same time, the vertical ventilation through the chimney effect ensures that there are no rotting nests and therefore no enticing odors. In this way, the SUPERCOMP remains hygienic, clean and permanently safe.
How quickly will my waste turn into compost?
It depends on the waste:
Soft plant material or kitchen scraps decompose particularly quickly in the wooden composter, while coarse material such as bones or thick branches take significantly longer - but can still be recycled. Thanks to the continuous aeration right into the core of the pile (chimney effect), the composting process in the SUPERCOMP starts immediately - without the need for laborious turning.
What can I expect from the Supercomp?
- First raw compost: after approx. 6–8 weeks
- Fresh compost: after 2–3 months – ideal for lawns, soil surfaces or root fertilization
- Semi-ripe compost: after 5–6 months – for preparing beds before sowing or transplanting
- Mature compost: after 10–12 months – can come into direct contact with seeds and roots
If you do not use the finished compost immediately, you can easily store it in the garden in the meantime.
Where should the composter be placed – rather shady or sunny?
The best place for the SUPERCOMP is semi-shady to shady and should offer some air movement. Direct sunlight is also possible - the wooden composter with its sturdy insulation reliably protects the material - but the contents can dry out more quickly in strong sunlight. In this case, it is advisable to moisten it occasionally.
A level, easily accessible location is just as important so that both filling and removing the finished compost is easy - for example, near the house or at the garden entrance.
Thanks to its enclosed and odor-free design, the SUPERCOMP is also perfect for gardens in densely populated residential areas.
It is also important to have a level, easily accessible location so that filling and removing the compost is convenient – for example, directly at the house or near the garden entrance.
Thanks to its closed and odorless design, the SUPERCOMP is also ideal for use in densely populated residential areas.
Do I have to turn the compost?
No - moving is not necessary with the SUPERCOMP wooden composter.
The integrated support and sliding device ensures vertical aeration right into the core of the pile. This keeps the material loose and well aerated at all times - without any digging or moving.
This not only reduces the workload, but also speeds up the entire composting process. Up to three times more waste can be processed and the finished compost can be conveniently removed via the harvesting chamber.
